Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in pain to see a chiropractor?
No. Many people at Be Well come in for regular maintenance care, the same way you'd keep up with dental cleanings, rather than waiting until something hurts.
What does an adjustment have to do with the nervous system?
Your spine surrounds and protects your spinal cord, the main pathway between your brain and body. Chiropractic care focuses on keeping the spine moving well so that pathway isn't working under extra stress.
How often do people come in for maintenance care?
It varies from person to person. Dr. Keith recommends a schedule after your first visit, based on your exam, your goals, and how your body responds.
Is wellness chiropractic care for kids and seniors too?
Yes. Be Well sees families, from kids to seniors, and adjusts techniques to the person, including gentle instrument-assisted adjusting.
Does a chiropractor tell you what to eat?
Not with a strict plan. Dr. Keith gives people options and easy choices, never pressure. He respects whatever way of eating you already like, whether that's vegetarian, keto, Mediterranean or something else, and he won't "blow it up". Any changes are your choice to make.
What is the best diet to follow?
In Dr. Keith's experience, the best diet is the one you'll actually keep. Fad diets often fade. He prefers balance over huge amounts of any one of fat, protein or carbs. His playful take: we have both sharp and grinding teeth, so we look built for both produce and meat.
How can I eat healthy without overthinking it?
Dr. Keith's general rule: the closer a food is to whole and natural, the more nutritious it generally is. Think real fruit and vegetables, whole meats, eggs and good cheese. His shortcut: a flour tortilla as "the vehicle" for leftovers, or cooking one pork roast into several meals for the week.
