What a session is
Certified hands-on care for overused muscles, scar tissue, and nerve entrapment.
Overused muscles and other soft tissues can change through acute injury, accumulated micro-trauma, and not getting enough oxygen. Those changes can produce tough, dense scar tissue that binds tissues that need to move freely. Muscles can become shorter and weaker, tendons can become irritated, and nerves can become trapped — with reduced range of motion, loss of strength, pain, and sometimes tingling, numbness, or weakness. Every ART session is a combination of examination and treatment. The provider uses their hands to evaluate the texture, tightness, and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These protocols — over 500 specific moves — are unique to ART. It is not a cookie-cutter approach. Dr. Keith is certified in upper and lower extremity, spine, nerve entrapment, complex protocols, and active palpation.

Questions
ART questions
What is Active Release Technique?
ART is hands-on work for overused muscles and related soft tissue. Every session combines examination and treatment. The provider uses their hands to evaluate texture, tightness, and movement, then applies precisely directed tension with specific patient movements. It is not a cookie-cutter approach.
Which ART areas is Dr. Keith certified in?
Upper and lower extremity, spine, nerve entrapment, complex protocols, and active palpation. The technique is described at activerelease.com.
Does ART guarantee a result?
No. This page does not promise pain relief, a number of visits, or a particular outcome. After a brief discussion of your needs, Dr. Keith talks with you about the amount and type of care. There is never any charge for that discussion.
How do I request ART?
Call (661) 679-7902, text (866) 698-4931, or send the appointment request and choose Active Release Technique. The office confirms the time by phone. Do not send personal health information on the form. Text the text number only — not the call line.
Where can I read about the technique itself?
Active Release Techniques publishes information at activerelease.com. That site describes the method. Scheduling and what is offered at this office still go through Be Well Chiropractic.
